Most Georgia residents have probably heard of the HOPE scholarship. The HOPE Program (Helping Outstanding Pupils Educationally) created in 1993 is Georgia's unique scholarship and grant program that rewards students with financial assistance in degree, diploma, and certificate programs at eligible Georgia public and private colleges/universities, and public technical colleges. HOPE is funded entirely by revenue from the Georgia lottery and is administered by the Georgia Student Finance Commission or the (GSFC). AVOID A SCAM! While there are many legitimate companies looking out for you bets interests, there are a few not-so-honest organizations who would enjoy taking your money and providing nothing in return. Below are just a few warning signs to watch out for.
1.The organization guarantees you will win an award as a result of paying a fee. 2.The organization sounds like a non-profit but has no traceable history.
3.The organization requests banking or credit card information to “process your application”.
